Easy like Sunday Morning

this is how we do weekends in new orleans:
if you've never had crawfish, come on down...hubbs and i will show you how to do 'em RIGHT!!!! they look like miniature lobsters but they taste 100 times better...in my opinion! i love well-seasoned food and crawfish done right....sorry about the drool on the screen. we got chicken tenders from burger king for kea (did you know that they're shaped like crowns? TOO CUTE!) and sat out on the lakefront. it's about 76 degrees here with a slight breeze...beautiful. we may have a few weeks of winter here every year...then it's back to the heat! hubbs was supposed to build some bookcases for me this weekend, but i guess the daiquiri disabled him (RRRIIIGGGHHT!!!!) we still have a storage unit in baton rouge (where we evacuated before katrina) and the majority of my books that i've accumulated over the past four years are in there. it's bad enough that i lost ALL of my books in the hurricane...now the ones i've collected again are probably desert for the rats. if i go to that storage and the majority of my books are in tatters... BAAYYY BAYYY!!!! mama is NOT gonna be a happy camper!!!! we're doing a family walk this evening because we need to release the fat...well, john and i do. ahmad and kea are skinny minis! hubbs and i feel like we're stuck in a relacore commercial! we're hoping to shape up some before the crescent city classic which is in april. we did the 6.5 miles last year and we're hoping to make it an annual family to do. anywho, i'm hoping to persuade hubbs to get the wood for my bookcases once we leave the park this evening...wish me luck!
also, i've decided to do a few challenges this week: scrapmojo; dreamgirls; the design xperiment; and pencillines. oh, i don't know HOW i'm gonna do them all, plus the rest of my buzz and bloom posts along with cleaning, cooking, working, playing with the boys (including my BIG boy ;) but i'm just sharing my pipe dreams, i mean plans with you!
typepad and i weren't on good terms but i guess we're cool now. i'm finally able to do my posts for Buzz and Bloom. i'm so relieved!!!! i told helene and div that i thought they had secretly kicked me off the design team. they assured me that they still want me! so, go on over to the Buzz and Bloom blog and check out my posts when they're finally up. don't leave without checking out the other girlz work...they freakin' RAWK! later!!!

Sorry it's been so long since i blogged, peggy...i'm slippin'!!!! i don't know WHO won the super bowl, don't know the last time i cleaned but i DO know that i got to kreate yesterday. if hubbs hadn't disturbed me i would have kreated more. you buy a man a 42" tv for christmas and know that the super bowl is coming on and you THINK he's gonna be occupied...LIES AND GARBAGE!!!! between innings, my husband kept running to the bedroom, asking if i had energy. i've had bronchitis for the past week and a half and i've been in bed most of that time. obviously, scrapping is equivalent to running 15 laps in the backyard (according to my hubbs!) anywho, i'm gonna do a super post in honor of the superbowl (won by the steelers, said ahmad!) and the fact that i haven't blogged in forever!!!!

my sister got married the day after christmas. they abandoned their cinderella ball plans and just decided to get married the monday before christmas. yeah, i asked her if she's pregnant, but she denied it...well, time will tell!!!!

i got my stamps from sinapore from this sweetie. i thought it was so wonderful that she just sent a total stranger some scrap yummies. you KNOW i have to send her a treat for being so wonderful!!!

typepad HATES ME!!!! i've been trying to upload my buzz and bloom projects to no avail! hopefully it'll be straightened out this week so that i can post with my b & b sisters! don't wait for me, though...go here to see the rest of the girls' goodies...they are SO TALENTED i love being on the same team as them! and they are teaching me SO MUCH!!!! bjay taught me how to do the hyperlink thing...see, i'm coming into the electronic age SLLLLOOOOWWWWLY!!!!

i treated myself to a making memories carousel today! i've loved them from afar for a long time but REFUSED to pay $50 for it! i had a 50% off coupon for michael's so...happy FEBRUARY TO ME!!!! oh! i want to pass on some good info...michael's now accepts competitor's coupons! so, you can use hobby lobby's 40% off coupons or whomever's there!!!! (enabler alert! guess i should have let you know i was enabling at the BEGINNING!!!) this is great news for me because michael's is much closer than hobby lobby and they have coupons more often. i need more embellies right now like another hole in my head, but i must have some storage. i'm working feverishly (LIES AND GARBAGE!!!) on organizing my studio! i really do want it organized. i took before pix and everything. i would post them but then i would have to shank you all! once i get it organized, i'll show you the disaster that it is now! well, gotta go entertain hubbs now, so i'll post again some time this week!

I"M FEELIN' IT

dang, this time gets away from you!!! i didn't realize that it's been weeks since i was last here, sharing. i need to vent about my butt...i'm just too big rightnow. and i just don't know what is gonna motivate me to lose the weight. hubbs and i both have reunions coming up in six months and THAT hasn't even motivated me! i need help and i don't know what to do! so depressing!

CRAP! I forgot...

...the show n' tell! first of all, can we just sit back for a second and absorb the fact that i'm bloggin' two days in a row? in the words of the wise and immortal kanye west: you can't tell me NUthin'!!!! but, i digress! i went to the mailbox monday and got this out:

that's right, baby!!!! the cutie patootie in the upper left hand corner is my keanohn! that's right...that's right...my noonie willis is all up in there! i'm so excited because this is my first time being published in a paper mag! being published is like tattoos...very addictive!!! i want to contact lowe's free mag and submit my home improvement project. or, i want to submit my bikini clad bod next to a racing car to the racing mags (can you wear a body shaper with a bikini??) i NEED TO BE PUBLISHED again!!!! so, what do you think i should do with the fifty copies that i bought? i was thinking a nice dress for christmas...
so, i've been thinking a lot about a discussion we had at work. i haven't been married as long as a lot of the people i work with. plus, i'm on husband #ONLY-no crap! if he bumps his head and decides he doesn't want to do right, i'm stocking up on batteries...i'm not for the foolishness! but, back to this discussion. my name is legally keandra perkins-willis. the "perkins" is because my two sons i had before i met my husband are perkins-that's my link to them. also, when i kreate, it's a tribute to my father who passed away because he was kreative as HELL!!!! but, i AM keandra WILLIS. i'm feelin' what the Lord said about leavin' and cleavin'. my thing is, i wish to be referred to as willis and i want my wishes respected. well, i work with some of the hatin'-est (if that's not a real word, it SHOULD be!!!) people EVA! they told me that marriage is not about love anymore. according to them, the only reason that i'm so into my husband is because we're relatively new to one another...after 10 years or so we'll start taking one another for granted! WOW!!! i understand what the statistics say: 60% of all marriages end in divorce. but, i feel that 90% of those should have never been together in the FIRST place. come on! how many relationships have you had which ended and you said to yourself: i never should have even given THAT fool my PHONE NUMBER!!! when he first LOOKED at me, i should have run away screaming!!! plus, if you don't WORK AT keepin' it good...how is it supposed to STAY good? if you stop giving each other little surprises (like that stripper pole i had installed in the bedroom...no, i'm joking...or AM I ?!?!?) how can you keep it fresh? tell me what you think: how long have you been married? do you believe in true love? do you think that all marriages lose the ooh la la or is it just that you have to work at keepin' it real?
i'm sittin' here typing like i didn't just do a 9 hour shift! i'll be back soon. no kreating today for me. i have to step away from my kraft studio and klean up before i'm divorced!

WARNING...

...if you don't have 20 minutes to devote to reading this post, you should ESCAPE NOW!!! i promised to give you all an update on how my birthday was celebrated and i shall keep my word! i've been trying to figure out which room in the house ATE the wire that i need to upload my pix into the computer to no avail. so, you'll just have to wait for the scrap pages to SEE how my celebration went. for now, just VISUALIZE as you read!
hubbs took me and the littlest boys to the beau rivage resort and casino in biloxi, mississippi (how many of you can write mississippi without silently saying it to yourself?) on monday, the 17th. we don't gamble but we DO love to relax and EAT!!!! the casino buffets have the BEST FOOD!!! plus, they sent you coupons to stay free if you feed the one armed bandit a little. but, i digress. we didn't have any plans for our time in biloxi except to relax and enjoy ourselves so it was really laid back. we took the boys to the movies to see "soul man". pretty funny but i wish i had known that EVERY OTHER WORD was a curse word...we definitely wouldn't have taken ahmad to see that! it kinda made me sad, too, because bernie mac and isaac hayes both died after making the movie (in the same week...did you know that?) and to me, both of them LOOKED sick! hubbs also took me to hobby lobby and let me run around uninterrupted for about 45 minutes (how great is HE?!?!). otherwise, we just ate, hung out in the arcade, ate, shopped and ate for the four days that we were there. on my actual birthday, which was friday, my hubby gave me the greatest card and 10 bottles from bath and body works. plus, he cooked some of my favorites: fried shrimp and oysters, crab cakes and fries. don't worry! it wasn't ALL artery cloggin' food...we DID have green salads! my parents came over and we had ice cream and cake after eating. the next day, hubbs took me out to dinner and to Barnes & Noble where he let me run around for about half an hour uninterrupted. he MADE ME do him somethin' dirty...i couldn't help it! he treated me SO WELL that he deserved a treat, too! :)
the entire family ended up with the ebola virus. no, wasn't that bad but it felt like it. so, i ended up missing a few days of work. when i was supposed to return thanxgiving night, kea's tempurature (which had been 101 for two days), spiked to 103. so, we ended up in children's hospital that night. the doctor said he just picked up whatever we had. when i DID return to work on sunday, my friends there gave me a party...of course i was not fit to work afterwards! my partner on the machine at work gave me an oil of olay gift pack...is that a gift or a HINT? just wondering.
do you know what's so cool? when you ask a fellow krafter where she got some scrap supply you can't live without from and she responses to you. i was reading sasha farina's blog and emailed her about some of the letter stamps that she used. not only did i get an answer...she's mailing some to me...how hard does SHE rawk?!?!?
well, i have to sleep before dealing with the post office tonight. if you're still here, check out the layouts i created. these are some of the ones i started last week and just got a chance to finish. i set a goal to complete 450 layouts before january 1st and so far i've done 314...think i'm gonna make it?

This sweetie is ADAEZE, my friend abena's daughter. while we were visiting with her, her mom and brothers, she drew this great horse for me and i HAD to scrap it!
and of course you know the kid! this is kea during that breast cancer walk we did a while back!
I really need to cook dinner and sleep now! Hopefully I get to blog again tomorrow...I really have some questions about your thoughts on marriage. Kreate beauty tonight!
